Leading, Empowering, and Advocating for Families

Through strategic partnerships, community service, and personal development initiatives, GBS-NCNW advances its mission to lead, empower, and advocate for women of African descent, their families, and their communities.

The organization promotes educational achievement, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, economic empowerment, health equity, civic engagement, sound public policy, and social justice.

Serving the Baltimore Metro Community

GBS-NCNW serves the Baltimore Metro area, including Baltimore City and Baltimore County. For more than eight decades, the organization has been a trusted advocate and resource for women, children, and families.

Through impactful programs, volunteer service, and collaboration with local nonprofits, businesses, government agencies, and community leaders, GBS-NCNW connects residents with valuable resources and creates opportunities that strengthen families.

Their work addresses critical issues such as health equity, education, economic empowerment, voter engagement, social justice, and youth development while helping build a more equitable and thriving Baltimore for all.

Why Partnership With MVLS Matters

GBS-NCNW recognizes that access to justice is a critical part of building strong, healthy, and equitable communities. Partnering with MVLS strengthens their ability to connect women, families, and underserved communities with trusted legal resources.

GBS-NCNW and MVLS share a commitment to advancing equity, protecting individual rights, and addressing systemic challenges that disproportionately impact communities of color.

Whether community members need support with housing issues, estate planning, consumer protection, family law, expungement, or other civil legal needs, this partnership helps ensure people can access information and legal support to make informed decisions.

Expanding Outreach and Access to Legal Resources

By working together, GBS-NCNW and MVLS can expand community outreach, increase access to legal education and services, and empower individuals to advocate for themselves and their families.

This collaboration reflects a shared belief that when legal resources are accessible, communities become stronger, families become more resilient, and lasting change becomes possible.

Upcoming: Spirit of a Woman Celebration & Luncheon

GBS-NCNW invites the community to mark their calendars for the Spirit of a Woman Celebration & Luncheon on Saturday, March 13, 2027.

This signature event honors extraordinary women whose leadership, service, and dedication have made a lasting impact in their communities. The celebration recognizes women who uplift others, lead with purpose, serve with compassion, and inspire the next generation of changemakers.

Advancing Equity Through Partnership

MVLS is proud to partner with GBS-NCNW to expand access to legal resources, strengthen families, and support a more equitable Baltimore.
