This past spring, our Outreach and Communications Manager, Chandler Walters, delivered a presentation to Transformational Health, LLC, introducing MVLS’ services and intake process. Since then, our collaboration has deepened through warm hand-off referrals. Recently, we identified a concerning incident where one of their clients was targeted by a legal services scam. We promptly intervened, confirming the scam and preventing the client from paying for what should be a free service!
Upon investigating their website at “https://www.baltimorelegalaid.com/maryland-legal-aid,” discrepancies were found. It’s crucial for our community to have clarity: Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS) provides free legal services. If you or someone you know has encountered similar issues, please contact us immediately.
We’re proud to recognize Transformational Health, LLC as our Community Partner of the Month. Read on to learn more about Transformational Health, LLC, and their experience as an MVLS Community Partner.
How long have you been in existence, and what is your organization’s mission?
Transformation Health LLC was founded in 2010 and has been proudly serving the community for over 15 years. Transformation Health began from humble roots—its founder Monica Boddie launched the effort from her car trunk, driven by a mission to break down barriers to mental healthcare in underserved communities. Our Mission is to provide quality and individualized counseling that is tailored to meet your needs. This is demonstrated through our ability to create an environment that respects and embraces individual and family diversity.
What/who/how do you serve your community?
Transformation Health is a premier Outpatient Mental Health Clinic. Offering an array of mental health and extensive support services which provides clients with a circle of care, and individualized treatment services. We serve individuals aged 6 and up through individual and family therapy, medication management, psychiatric rehabilitation services (PRP), supported employment, health home, partial hospitalization, and substance use disorder programs.
Our services are offered in offices, telehealth, community-based and home-based, depending on what best meets the client’s needs. At the heart of our work is a deep commitment to addressing mental health holistically—emotionally, socially, and spiritually.
Why do you think it’s important to work with a legal services program, like MVLS?
At Transformation Health, we recognize that mental health doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Our families often face legal challenges that intersect with their emotional well-being—such as custody issues, housing instability, or access to public benefits. Working with a legal services program like MVLS ensures our clients have access to comprehensive support. This kind of partnership helps reduce systemic barriers and promotes long-term stability and healing for the whole family.
Is there anything upcoming you would like to highlight or promote?
We always welcome new community partners, donors, and passionate professionals who want to be part of our mission of transformation.
We’re currently hosting our Therapeutic Summer Camp, which blends emotional wellness activities with creative expression and leadership development for youth impacted by Trauma. We’re also preparing for the upcoming school year by strengthening our school-based therapy program and onboarding new families into our organizations.
Transformation Health, LLC invites attendees to experience its signature program—The Therapeutic Dance Hall, part of the pioneering #DanceYourStressAway campaign designed to end the stigma around mental health by promoting emotional wellness through movement.
What Is the Therapeutic Dance Hall?
A unique mental health initiative launched by Founder & CEO Monica Boddie, aimed at breaking down barriers to care through dance and music.
Inspired by the idea that people often find it easier to talk about stress rather than mental health struggles, particularly in communities of color, this program offers a non‑traditional—yet powerful—entry point to therapeutic services, bringing joy, movement, and mental health awareness together.
