Your generosity can be the difference between someone having a legal advocate by their side or facing a courtroom alone. With your help, MVLS provides free and full civil legal representation for our clients. Your gift helps us conduct thorough intake, recruit and train volunteers, engage community partners, advocate for more equitable laws, and ultimately help our clients move forward with their lives.
Give NowCivil legal aid like the kind we provide has a proven impact on people’s housing, financial and family stability in both the short and the long term.
“To me, receiving free legal help meant that there is always hope.”

Sponsors help raise critical dollars to support MVLS while bringing our community together to raise awareness about the impact of free legal help. MVLS hosts two signature events each year for which we are seeking sponsorship support. Celebrate Pro Bono is our fall volunteer recognition event and A Taste for Pro Bono is our marquee spring fundraiser. Visit our event pages to learn more about each, including tailored marketing benefits, tickets, and a list of our past sponsors.

Our gift acceptance policy is grounded in MVLS’ core values, including a promise to our donors. MVLS generally accepts financial support from individuals, businesses, foundations, and government organizations to support our mission. Unrestricted gifts are the most powerful way that donors can support our work. Before accepting gifts, the Executive Director, in consultation with other relevant parties, may assess alignment with our core values, mission, and capacity. The organization reserves the right to reject gifts that compromise its mission or create undue burdens. Recognizing funders is not the mission of MVLS, and we take seriously the responsibility to maximize gifts to remove barriers to justice. Supporters are generally listed on our website, though donors can opt out of this recognition by requesting to give anonymously. Other recognition remains at the discretion of MVLS. To learn more about our practices for acknowledging gifts, communicating with donors, donor privacy, and our commitment to transparency, and types of gifts we accept, you can read the full gift acceptance policy using the link above.
