October Estate Planning Clinic

Please consider volunteering at our upcoming MVLS estate planning clinic. 

It will be at the Morning Star Church (1600 Whitehead Court, Gwynn Oak, MD 21207) on October 18, 2025. Attorneys arrive at 9am for an orientation and the clinic will be from 10a-2 pm. We’ll draft and execute wills, powers of attorney, advance medical directives, and deeds. We hope to have each attorney get to help 2 clients in that time. Volunteers will be well supported with annotated templates, a recorded estate planning training and other written materials. There will also be MVLS staff attorneys available to answer any questions before and during the clinic.

Volunteer opportunities are also available for criminal record expungement. Attorneys will meet with clients to consult about Maryland state-level criminal cases that appear on their background report. Volunteers will advise clients on eligibility for record expungement, and complete expungement petitions to the extent time allows. Background checks and expungement law reference materials will be provided. MVLS staff with expungement expertise will be on-site to provide guidance.
