MVLS invites you to attend a free virtual training session in partnership with Civil Justice on handling IRS and Maryland Tax Controversy cases for low-income taxpayers. This training will cover all of the basics that an Attorney, Enrolled Agent or CPA would need to represent their clients in a tax controversy with the IRS or MD Comptroller, including Assessments, Appeals, Collections Alternatives and more. The course will be taught by experienced tax attorneys, Daniel Heller, Cheri Wendt-Taczak, Local Taxpayer Advocate Service Lead Case Advocate Karon Johnson, and Director, Appeals Division, Comptroller of Maryland, Jay Maschas. The training is completely free, but each participant will be asked to accept one tax controversy case over the next six months.
