Transfer on Death Deed Overview for Legal Professionals

In this year’s legislative session, Maryland authorized use of the Transfer-on-Death Deed and created a statutory form that may be used by homeowners. MVLS played an active role in advocating for this legislation because the transfer-on-death deed is an important planning tool for homeowners who cannot access an attorney. In this training, we will review how the deed works, how it differs from life estate deeds, and answer participant questions.
