MVLS Announces New Members to our Board of Directors

Newly Announced MVLS Board Members Karen Davidson and Jamie Tansey

Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS), the largest provider of pro bono legal services to low-income Marylanders, today announced the election of two new board members – attorneys Karen Davidson and Jamie Tansey. MVLS’ Board of Directors is responsible for governance and directing the organization’s strategic plan to deliver life changing pro bono legal services to Marylanders with limited income. Both board members are current MVLS volunteers and generous supporters of its program.

Karen Davidson is assistant corporate counsel, human resources director and corporate secretary at Lord Baltimore Capital Partners, LLC in Baltimore. Karen’s core practice areas are real estate and corporate law. A MVLS volunteer since 2009, Karen supports clients at various expungement and foreclosure clinics. She is the immediate president of the Association of Corporate Counsel Baltimore Chapter. Karen earned her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

Jamie Tansey is a senior associate at Hogan Lovells’ Baltimore office. Working in the firm’s litigation group, Jamie defends life science companies in products liability lawsuits. Jamie has been a MVLS volunteer attorney for the past two years, has helped 53 clients expunge their criminal records and he supports these clients for the life of their case. He is also a MVLS Community Advocacy Network (CAN) member, educating young attorneys about the importance of providing pro bono legal services. Jamie earned his J.D. at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.
