Then MVLS CAN is for YOU!

What is MVLS CAN?

Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS) relies on our pro bono volunteers to ensure all Marylanders across the state receive civil legal aid.

MVLS CAN (Community Advocacy Network) was created to do this and so much more! MVLS CAN is a network of new volunteer attorneys, CPA’s, EA’s, and law students with a desire to help clients access quality free legal services, but also grow their skill sets.

As our mission states, MVLS connects low-income Marylanders with volunteer lawyers to deliver free civil legal assistance because there should be justice for all, not just for those who can afford it. In addition to knowing you have provided someone with a fighting chance at justice, MVLS volunteers receive many benefits.

What are the benefits of joining MVLS CAN?

CAN members receive immediate access to professional development opportunities, relationship and network building, mentors and support, as well as the path to provide life-changing legal services to low-income Maryland residents.
