Last month, MVLS elected three new members to our Board of Directors, including Namha Edwards, Kamil Ismail and Amy M. McClain. The Board of Directors is responsible for governance and directing the organization’s strategic plan to deliver life changing pro bono legal services to Marylanders with limited income.
Namha Edwards is senior corporate counsel Deltek, Inc. in Herndon, Virginia. Her practice is focused on commercial contracts for a multi-national, software and technology subsidiary of a publicly traded corporation. With more than 13 years of experience in corporate and commercial contracts, Edwards was previously a corporate and securities associate at DLA Piper LLP in Baltimore.
Kamil Ismail is a partner at Goodell DeVries law firm in Baltimore where he practices in the areas of product liability, insurance coverage, and commercial and business tort litigation. He has represented clients in bench and jury trials, state and federal courts, and has experience with mediations and other proceedings. A volunteer with MVLS, Ismail has helped several clients with landlord/tenant disputes and other housing issues.
Amy M. McClain represents public housing authorities and affordable housing developers in the context of mixed-finance transactions as a partner at Ballard Spahr LLP in Baltimore. McClain is an author and speaker at national public housing conferences. In 2014, McClain was name to The Daily Record’s Top 100 Women in Maryland.
