My Home, My Deed, My Legacy

Secure Your Home. Protect Your Future. We Can Help.

ABOUT US

The Tangled Title team at MVLS removes barriers to clean title and effective accumulation of intergenerational wealth through free civil legal help, community engagement, and advocacy for equitable laws, and that team implements the My Home, My Deed, My Legacy Project. The My Home, My Deed, My Legacy Project has been a key aspect of our work to stabilize homeowners since the beginning. The project involves clinics, pro bono cases, and direct outreach to help homeowners and families build intergenerational wealth.

HOW TO VOLUNTEER

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact skappen@mvlslaw.org. MVLS provides training, resources, and staff support to help volunteers assist clients navigating tangled title and inherited property issues

HOW WE CAN HELP

We work to help clients with estate planning, deeds, and estate administration. We could help clients who are looking to draft a will, power of attorney, advance medical directive, or new deed. We can also help when people need to understand their deed, have questions about how to fix title to their home, or have legal issues caused by a family member passing away.

  • Look for upcoming in-person clinics by checking MVLS’s social media event page.
  • We only do a few in-person clinics a year, but if you want service anytime for estate planning, deed changes, or probate help, call MVLS’s intake line: (410) 547-6537 (Baltimore metro area)
  • Phone intake hours are Monday – Thursday, 9:00am – 12:00pm.

MVLS attorneys can help resolve tangled title issues when a home is inherited, shared among family members, or passed down without a will. We assist with clearing ownership issues so clients can protect their homes, access benefits, and plan for the future.
